Meeting for 1st of November 2005

The meeting that heralded in November 2005, and the Melbourne Cup was a fun affair for all.

Mark Dickson was our Toastmaster for the evening and did a stirling job dealing with a few unexpected cancellations. The impromptu activities that Mark organised, kept us all enthralled.

We were fortunate to hear Michael Salkin's project 2 speach, where he spoke about Jeruselum, and some of the wondrous sights that he experienced during his time in Israel. Deb Clack gave a comprehensive and uplifting evaluation to Michaels speech, and we are all looking forward to hearing Michael's next speech.

Table topics was presented by Jerry Doyle, and his theme got the tastebuds singing with some mouth watering reminiscing about food.

Ivy kept us in fits of laughter with common cliche's, from the point of view of a 6 year old. Good advice not to bite the hand that is dirty.

Maria Antonas gave a very constructive general evaluation on the night with some great recommendations that we can all learn from.

The next meeting is on the 15th of November, and the last meeting of the year will be on the 6th of December. Hope to see you all there.

Meeting for 18th October 2005

Well!!! Congratulations to Jill Miller – she got second place in the Area Division Comp – Evaluation held this week.

Sarah asks anyone who has not paid their ‘club dues’ can you please pay as soon as possible.

Our meeting on 18 October – was a bit thin on attendance. However was a good night.

Dean Grondal presented an interesting Invocation “Buddhism for busy people”

Sarah presented an advanced speech – “He who laughs last”.

Due to cancellations on the original programme Jill Miller presented an interesting segment “Look and Write”. We all came up with interesting stories? Poems? About the little fluffy spotted rooster? – chicken? duck? She held in her hand. Well yours truly thought it was a duck ‘Derrrrr’

Deb Clack presented an interesting educational on adding variety to our meeting.

Yours truly presented Table Topics ‘Names’.

Deb Clack with the kind help of Jason Fewings is organising a ‘Web Page’ for our club. Might help to increase our membership.

See you all at next meeting which is this coming Tuesday 1st November.
